Engagement of our JLO members is a top priority for me this year and our Community Council has worked especially hard at expanding volunteer opportunities in our legacy programs, as well as coming up with new touch points in the community. I'm thrilled to see the passion our members have already brought to every event and volunteer opportunity we've held this year.
There have been so many great events this year already, but a few that stand out are:
Bridging the Gap - Even in the middle of the work day, we had 14 members show up and help distribute food to 85 underserved children at Impact Youth.
Women Empowered - We hosted a booth at the Women in Business event and those that volunteered were surprised with free tickets to the event. It was an awesome opportunity to attend a local training and be inspired by leaders who are making a difference in our community.
Harvest Moon Festival - Our Council set up a creative booth for kids to craft and we were also able to raise money for the League via a raffle that promoted local artists.
All League members are challenged to contribute at least 62 hours a year to League events/programs. There's a ton of exciting events coming up over the next two months to help each member meet those goals, including:
Pearls for Pennies Rummage Sale - October 8
JLO Adopt-A-River Cleanup Day - October 14
Oasis Garden Plot Cleanup - October 29
Dental Days - November 5
Poinsettia Sale Sort and Deliver - November 19

Thank you for working so hard to make this year a success and promoting the Junior League. I am honored to serve with you and look forward to seeing what else we are capable of this year!
