Sustainer Sue Wilkerson received the Mattie Wattis Harris Award at the YCC 10th Annual Celebrating Women Rose Dedication and Tea event today. This award is given to women in our community who contribute to the greater good of the people, the city, and the overall growth of community. Here are just a few of the things Sue does in our community.
As a former Junior League of Ogden President and an active sustainer, Sue also serves on the Board of Governors for the Ogden-Weber Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber Spikers, Women in Business, Eccles Art Center Board, Weber Heritage Foundation, Ogden City Landmarks Commission and the Historic 25th Street Association. She is also involved with the Christmas Box House Fundraiser, volunteers at YCC, and Catholic Community Services.
Her latest volunteer service is focusing on Youth Futures, which provides safe shelter, collaborative resources, respectful guidance and diverse support to homeless, unaccompanied, runaway and at-risk youth in Northern Utah.
"Sue has always been an amazing advocate for women and this community, and we are thrilled that she has been recognized for all of the wonderful things she does to make this world a better place. Sue embodies the spirit of Junior League and is a shining example that when you change women, you change a community, and we could not be more proud of her!"
